Abstract

The E! Chem website serves to solve the problem of inadequate practice of experiments for students to help them learn. E! Chem helps students make chemistry practical’s more fun by allowing them to perform them at any time and at any location with internet access. It also gives chance to students with very minimal access to the institution laboratories hence can instead use E! Chem. The purpose of the proposed system is to develop E! Chem. The objectives are: provide tutorials for students to study before performing the experiments, provide practice experiments for students with animation, grade each student’s performance and keep record, provide and corrections for the wrong answers as per the student. The beneficiaries of the proposed system are: students who engage themselves in performing those experiments, the teachers to those students as they have an easier time teaching the students as they can first practice the experiments before class and perform experiments practically and the institutions from which the students engaging belong to as the students will not be solely depending on the limited laboratory resources for study and practice. The software requirements for developing the proposed system are: Windows Operating System, Dreamweaver and Wamp Server. The tools required are: SQL, PHP, JAVASCRIPT, HTML. The project came up mainly as a result of limited resources in the institutions laboratories which for students can perform experiments in. With limited visual practice some students cannot get to be their best in them. This project is aimed at giving students more exposure to students for them to get better versed in it.
